Description
The 1968 Etch Pendant is a direct reference to a print artwork by multi-disciplinary artist Arthur Goldreich, inspired by musical forms and ancient arts. The original brooch was sculpted as an intricate relief by carving into wax, then sand-casted in solid silver. A mould and casting process now preserves the unique design, with every mark of Arthur's hand shown within the pendant, including his freehand initials on the back face.
Arthur and his wife Tamar de Shalit designed and crafted jewellery as an intimate expression of their artistic partnership and shared creativity throughout the 1970s and 1980s. The jewellery pieces became more than adornments; Tamar cherished and wore them throughout her life as a reminder of this fruitful period.
Each piece of Tamart Jewellery is cast from the original designs individually crafted by Tamar and Arthur. They are made in London’s Hatton Garden jewellery district from 100% recycled precious metals and hallmarked with the Tamart makers mark. The items are presented in fabric pouches sewn from the remnants of the exclusive Tamart Contrast textile. This British made fabric is a handwoven cloth designed by Tamar in 1980, when she regularly made scarves on a wooden loom for Arthur to wear.
The 1968 Etch Pendant includes an adjustable leather cord and is made to order with an estimated delivery time of 7-10 days.
